Bhyxe was written in 2009 for the Callithumpian Consort, heard in this recording conducted by Steve Drury.

It began by playing slow lines on the clarinet.  I recorded these lines and transposed them into a low microtonal polyphony.  This became the canvas for the swollen, stretched textures in the winds and strings.
